All set for Voting day

loksabha14A total of 4,040 polling centres have been established in Belgaum district for Lok Sabha polls to be held on April 17, as many as 386 centres are identified as `hyper sensitive’.

658 centre are identified as sensitive and 2996 centres are normal. The hyper sensitive centres identified in the district, 172 centres are Belgaum parliamentary constituency, 171 centres in Chikodi parliamentary constituency and 43 centres are in Khanapur/Kittur.

Half Section CAPF, Micro Observer, video cameras, web castings, 56 flying squads and 55 Static Surveillance teams will be keeping an eye on all those centres.
464 buses and 533 other vehicles have been deputed for LS polls duty.
After the voting, the EVMs of Chikodi parliamentary constituency will be sealed and stored at R D Pre University College premises and of Belgaum parliamentary constituency will be kept at Jyoti College premises under tight police security till counting day – May 16.

During the period 32 police cases have been registered, 208 cases have been registered by Excise, unaccounted cash of Rs 155.67 lakh has been seized, goods worth Rs 52.47 lakh has been seized and 40 vehicles, a total estimated cost of about Rs 40.55 lakh have been seized.
