The work on the proposed superspecialty hospital here will begin in two or three months, said Minister of State for Medical Education Sharanprakash R. Patil. In Belgaum, the hospital would come up on the premises of district government hospital.
 The Minister said the Congress government had proposed to set up superspeciality hospitals at divisional headquarters in the State.
These hospitals would provide best quality healthcare to the poor and those who could not afford treatment at private hospitals. They would have at least six departments, such as neurology, cardiology, nephrology, urology and plastic surgery.
