In a momentous decision, UT Khader, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, announced that the iconic Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi will now be permanently illuminated, marking a departure from the previous practice of only lighting it up during the short sessions. This move, aimed at enhancing the grandeur of the architectural marvel, comes with additional features such as laser lights and a vibrant array of colors, turning the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha into a mesmerizing spectacle for locals and visitors alike.
Traditionally, a considerable sum of Rs 1.25 crore was allocated to illuminate the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha solely during brief legislative sessions. However, this new initiative ensures that the iconic structure will be bathed in lights throughout the year. Beyond the standard lighting, the addition of laser and color light options promises a dynamic and visually stunning display that will captivate onlookers.
Adding to the charm, the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha will not only be lit up on regular days but will also become a beacon of light on weekends. This decision aims to create a festive atmosphere and attract more locals and tourists to witness the architectural brilliance of the building.
Green Initiative:
In a commitment to environmental sustainability, arrangements have been made to plant 300 saplings in the vicinity of Suvarna Vidhana Soudha. Each sapling will bear an elegantly designed plaque with the name of the legislator responsible for its planting, serving as a permanent memorial. This initiative not only adds a touch of greenery to the surroundings but also creates a lasting legacy for legislators, allowing them to revisit and cherish these moments even years after their service.
What’s the purpose of wasting so much electricity and public money on keeping it lit constantly?! Its in an isolated place which no one visits while the roads where people reside are dark. Accidents , thefts can be prevented by lighting up streets instead this. When will the leadership (every party) think for people who they get elected to serve?
