The first Sanskrit LGBTQ + short film “Balbhushanani” (The Child Ornaments) made by filmmakers from Belagavi was screened on the second day of the 13th Kashish Mumbai International Film Festival in Mumbai.
This year, more than 184 films from 53 countries are being screened at the festival. June is a Pride month for the LGBTQ community. Every year Kashish organizes this film festival to create awareness about this.
This year the film festival is taking place at the famous Liberty cinema in Mumbai from 1st June to 5th June. The festival was inaugurated by Bollywood actress Divya Dutta. Famous Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao also showed up on the second day of the festival.
The story of this Sanskrit short film Balbhushanani is written by Mrs. Medha Marathe and the Sanskrit translation is done by Dr. Asha Pathak- Gurjar.
The film stars Abhijeet Deshpande, Ameya Patankar, Aarti Apte and Medha Marathe in the lead roles. The Cinematography and Editing is done by Eyeline Pictures’ Sanket Kulkarni while the Screenplay and Direction is by Chinmay Sudhir Shende.
