Crematorium and graveyards are wonderful repositories of tales from the beyond. Even for citizens, passing these spots where the living and the freshly dead meet is bound to conjure up imaginings of entities that exist between life and death.

But it was here today at the Sadashiv Nagar crematorium that two souls became one as they tied the nuptial knot in the presence of dignitaries.

Today being Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Diwas, Satish Jarkhiholi has taken a vow to spend the night at the crematorium on December 6 every year as long as he is alive!  A well-meaning gesture to fight superstition, it has now become an event!

Sopan Balkrishna of Teerthkunde married Rekha Gurrannavar of Hire Bagewadi and Satish Jarkhiholi gifted the newly with blessings and 50,000.
