The winter session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha concluded after 64 hours of proceedings. The 5th session of the sixteenth Legislative Assembly was held over eight days, from December 9 to December 19, according to Speaker U.T. Khader.
A total of 16 bills, including the Appropriation Bill, were introduced, debated, and passed during the session. Notably, the Karnataka Legislative Assembly (Removal of Disqualifications) (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the Karnataka Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Bill, 2024 were withdrawn.
In addition to legislative business, eight reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and seven reports from various standing committees were presented. A dedicated discussion on the development of North Karnataka saw 49 members participate, spanning 13 hours and 11 minutes.

The session also addressed 3,004 questions submitted by members. Of these, 137 oral questions and 1,794 written questions received answers. Additionally, 294 out of 444 attention-grabbing instructions were responded to, and 160 instructions under Rule 351 were accepted, with answers provided to 80 of them.
During Zero Hour, five specific instructions were discussed, and a resolution expressing condolences to dignitaries who had passed away was unanimously passed.
Key reports, including the second installment of Supplementary Estimates for 2024–25 and the Mid-Year Review Report of the State Finance, were presented and approved on December 17. Clarifications on the state’s losses from heavy rains were provided by the Revenue Minister and Chief Minister during the session.
On December 18, the Assembly authorized the Speaker to nominate three members to the Senate of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
