Belgaum to Goa via Chorla images of the road
We had posted Belgaum to Goa via Chorla and here now have some exclusive images of the road.
The work on the Road had begun in 1979 but this route was never taken seriously and even now at the border between Karnataka and border the road is horrible and also the work is in going on a snails pace. A deadline of May 31, 2012 has been given but we dont expect the same to be achieved.
The 50.10km-long road stretch from Peeranwadi to Goa border, were planned in 2007 but due to the objections raised by the forest department work could not begin.
In April 2011, KRDCL (Karnataka road development corporation ltd) got the sanction for the road. This road passes through the reserved forest areas of Belgaum district and through the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary.
So currently this is a good option to reach Maupsa in 2 hours on a bike.
The Road via Anmod from Ramnagar is horrible and at time there are no signs of a road. After this when one lands in Goa there are thousands of mining trucks from Mulem to Ponda and if one gets stuck in this chaos with thousand of trucks on each side it would take one atleast over an hour to reach Ponda.
