Summer camp for diabetes children

A summer camp for diabetes children was organized by KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital. Children from the entire district and far off places had come in large numbers to participate in the camp. This is an attempt to gather students in the summer holidays, encourage them to take part in the competitive activities, games and interact with the other affected children to find out there are many people affected but all of them are doing well, living well. Such camps help in boosting the morale and confidence of the children.

DiabcampThe main organizers are Dr.M.V.Jali, Medical Director & Chief Executive of the hospital, Dr. Sujata M. Jali who is a Pediatric Doctor specialized in handling diabetic children. Shri B.R. Ravikantegouda, Superintendent of Police, Belagavi and Mrs. Shobha Ravikantegouda were the Chief Guests of the function. They conveyed very encouraging and positive feelings to over come the difficulties and live life as normal as possible. The examples of very famous personalities like Swami Vivekananda, 10 Olympic medal winner Gary Hall and many others were quoted to convince the children that they too can be high achievers and international figures. A beginning is already made in this direction by them as they have received 13 medals in a global competition involving 30 countries. Also the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts and valuable contributions of KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital in dealing with such a noble cause, so sincerely for the last 16 years.

This was the 16th Annual Camp, some of the babies who joined this as early as 45 days of their existence have now shown that they are normal and confident. With the relentless efforts from Dr.(Mrs) Sujata Jali, the children are receiving free insulin and other equipments. Totally 120 children and their parents participated in this camp. Children enjoyed the occasion, interacted well, received the prizes, certificates and cash awards proudly and walked away looking forward to interact regularly with the hospital and attend the next summer camp in a even better shape.
