Air travellers between Bengaluru and Belagavi will now have fewer flight options, as IndiGo has withdrawn one of its two daily services on the route from June 16.

The airline, which had been operating morning and evening flights between Bengaluru and Belagavi, has scaled back operations to a single daily service. Industry sources indicate that rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) costs and operational factors have influenced the decision.

The revised schedule will operate as follows:

Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday

  • Bengaluru (BLR): 6:50 AM departure
  • Belagavi (IXG): 8:20 AM arrival

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

  • Bengaluru (BLR): 5:55 PM departure
  • Belagavi (IXG): 7:25 PM arrival
Indigo airbus

The reduction comes as a setback for frequent flyers, business travellers and passengers relying on same-day connectivity between the two cities. The earlier schedule provided the flexibility of choosing between morning and evening departures, enabling day-return trips and smoother connections to other domestic and international destinations via Bengaluru.

With only one flight operating each day, passengers may face reduced seat availability, particularly during peak travel periods. Travel agents also expect fares to rise on certain days as capacity on the route decreases.

The Bengaluru sector remains one of Belagavi Airport’s busiest routes, serving business travellers, students, professionals and connecting passengers heading to destinations across India and abroad.
