On day one of the nomination filing as many as 17 nominations were filed in the Belagavi district.
Nippani 4 IND
Athani – 3 (AAP, 2 IND)
Gokak – BJP
Khanapur – 3 IND
Kittur – 1 RUP
Bailhongal – 1 RUP
Suandatti Yellama – 2 RUP
Ramdurg – 1
RUP- Registered Unrecognized Parties
IND – Independent
Only AAP has filed from Athani nowhere else any national party or regional political party has filed today.
I was surprised that only AAP filed from Athani on day one, while the BJP’s lone entry came in Gokak. Living near Belagavi, I’m used to last-minute filings, so 17 on the first day feels like an early rush.
