May 10 – 7 AM to 6 PM – You have to VOTE – Karnataka Assembly Voting Day guide

On May 10th, Belagavi and Karnataka will VOTE and elect their Legislative Members and eligible voters can vote from 7 AM to 6 PM.

It is imperative that all eligible voters exercise their right to vote and refrain from engaging in leisure activities before casting their ballot. Let us all take responsibility for shaping the future of our community by participating in this important democratic process.

Date of Poll 10.05.2023 (Wednesday) From 07:00am to 06:00pm

Date of Counting 13.05.2023 (Saturday) From 08:00 am

BELAGAVI in total has 187 contesting candidates out of which 13 are Women and 174 men.

Alternative Documents: For identification of voters at Polling Station, the Voter shall present his EPIC or any of the following identification documents approved by the Commission:

Indelible ink will be applied on the left hand forefinger (as per rule 49k of conduct of election rules 1961).

i. Aadhaar Card,

ii. MGNREGA Job Card,

iii. Passbooks with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office,

iv. Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour,

v. Driving License,

vi. PAN Card,

vii. Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR,

viii. Indian Passport,

ix. Pension document with photograph,

x. Service Identity Cards with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies, and

xi. Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs and

xii. Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card, M/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India

has following functionalities which may be extensively used by citizens for the richness in content, correctness and real time availability and ease of use of the mobile application.

a) Citizen can find the polling station and constituency details, its location, route navigation to the booth from their current location etc… just by EPIC number search and name search.

b) Facility to book for wheel chair for senior citizen and PwD voters.

c) Voluntary registration of Persons with Disability and 80+ aged voters to avail the benefits through mobile authentication for pickup and drop facilities.

d) The queue status facility in all the polling stations.

e) Parking locations and navigation.

f) Constituency wise voter-turnout once in 2 hours.

g) Live vote counting published at the end of every round.

h) Contact details of all officers, details of contestants (name, photo, party, symbol, age etc…) to take an informed decision while casting their vote.

i) Facility to locate nearest emergency services like police station, hospitals, etc… as a part of communication plan, backup plan and emergency services. The electors may download this application from GooglePlay store and App Store and ensure their name in voters list and also can avail the facilities mentioned above. Urban voters who face it difficult to identify and navigate to their polling stations and are vary about standing in queue before voting may take informed decisions using this application.

Measures to prevent impersonation of Absentee Voters: BLOs have visited door to door and identified a list of voters found absent from their place of residence. Similarly the names of dead, shifted shall also be added to the list. ASD list has already been prepared and marked.

‘Dry Day’ is declared for the constituencies from 08.05.2023 (Monday) 6.00PM to 10.05.2023 (Wednesday) till the completion of the poll. Dry Day declaration orders have been issued by District Collectors of all the 26 Bordering Districts of neighboring States.

Welfare measures including health for voters –

i. All the assured minimum facilities have been provided to all the polling stations such as Ramp facility, Drinking Water, Electricity, Furniture, waiting room, clean toilets for male & female and proper signage.

ii. Polling booths will be kept clean and the voter will have pleasant experience during voting.

iii. Waiting rooms will be provided with seating arrangements.

iv. Tokens will be issued to the voters in the waiting room which will reduce their time of standing in queue.

v. Queue Management App (CHUNAVANA App) is developed to know the queue status at the polling stations.

vi. Pickup and drop transport facility for senior citizens and PwDs voters will be provided on poll day. They have to book this facility through CHUNAVANA App.

vii. COVID protocols and first aid health facilities along with ORS and medicines will be provided to the voters.
