Bittoo: Bapu.
Bapu: Yes Bittoo.
Bittoo: The government has set up several awards conferred in recognition of notable and commendable achievements, contributions and social services on various fields on various occasions like Independence Day Bapu?
Bapu: Yes Bittoo. That’s a good gesture on the part of the government, as such recognitions and public honours also motivate and inspire others to do good works in the society.
Bittoo: I have read about some ‘phobie award’, given to those who deserve to be remembered for worst work.
Bapu: Hummmmm! I have also read about it.
Bittoo: Don’t you think it is high time that we should also have such a award for individuals and institutions Bapu?
Bapu: Hummmmm! Not a bad idea.
Bittoo: In that case, can our city Corporation win the award for maintaining bad to worst roads and drainage systems Bapu?
Bapu: I don’t know Bittoo.
This is a citizen-centric new column, wherein the author(Bitto) is an ordinary, politically unaffiliated common man of the city who in his/her inimitable approach takes up various issues with the Bapu’s soul! Apparently, the interaction between them portrays ironies of sorts encountered by the common man and others in the city in a lighter vein. The author’s name will not be disclosed to the readers as he/she represents the common man of the society. This column aims at creating awareness and sensitising cross sections of our city on various issues of public concern only but in a lighter vein without holding any contempt against any institution or individual.
