A new wholesale vegetable market on the APMC premises was set up six months back has come to a standstill. The new vegetable wholesalers who had established the market have failed to run their business there.
In fact the opening of this market at the APMC premises was opposed by the wholesalers at the Cantonment Vegetable market near the Bus Stand (Fort Road).
No one from the existing market shifted to the new premises citing no proper place to do business.
Farmers and purchasers of vegetables, who deal in small quantity, find it comfortable to reach the old market rather than approach the extension area of the city where the new market existed.
