Belagavi’s per capita income at 26th position Rs. 72,428

The per capita income of many of the north Karnataka districts is not even closer to the State’s average if Rs. 1,26,976.
Belagavi District secured 26th position (Rs. 72,428).

The latest Economic Survey (2015–16) of the State government said Bengaluru Urban district contributes 33.6 per cent to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) followed by Dakshina Kannada (5.8 per cent) and Belagavi (4.4 per cent).

The GSDP of Belagavi district earlier was 5.3%. (now 4.4%) even when the per capita income has risen from Rs.52,250 the previous years.

Bengaluru Urban tops the list of high income districts, followed by two coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. 

District income is a measure of the level and growth of economic development prevailing in the district.

  1. Please make Meter based billing for everything, like Water bill, Property Tax, auto rickshaw with meter, lets encourage private Cabs like Ola, Meru etc. Then see how the income will grow for the Belgaum.
