Global Investors’ Meet (GIM 2012), the second edition got underway today amidst fanfare which aims to promote Brand Karnataka.
Lets see what Belgaum has got on day one. (list is not exhaustive)
Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman and managing director of the Aditya Birla Group expanding alumina plant in Belgaum. The group also plans to expand its aluminum plant in Belgaum from 2,000 tonnes to 3,000 tonnes at Rs 700 crore.
Suzlon Group chairman and managing director Tulsi R. Tanti signed an agreement with chief minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda to set up 3,000MW of wind and solar energy projects, investing Rs20,000 crore under which wind farms would be built in Belgaum district.
Sources say that companies from Belgaum district have committed Rs 2,000 crore.
Belgaum has been pitched for the following industries Cement, Food Processing, IT/BT, Readymade Garments, Sugar and co gen power.

But what happened to earlier GIM projects. i heard some of projects are facing big problem. first implement earlier plan then we can think about 2 nd GIM .

Dear CM Mr. Sadanandgowda. Would like to know the earlier projects of the first GIM when Mr.Yedurappa was the CM and what is happening with them and their status. Rest all is waste.
