Jeevan Rekha hospital based in Belagavi which was earlier also a centre for the clinical trials for the Covid vaccine has started clinical trials of a COVID-19 vaccine developed by a private company on children.
10 boys and 10 girls between 12-18 years of age are being given the first dose of ZyCov-D vaccine, developed by Zydus Cadila.
None of the children who underwent the clinical trials are having any side effects or other health complications two months after the vaccines were administered to them, said Dr Amit Bhate, Director of Jeevan Rekha Hospital.
Doctors were keeping a close watch on the condition of all the 20 children for the past two months at regular intervals and found that they were healthy
