For over a week now Belgaum border row has been in the news in the national media was here and now is settling down. Even today reporters from far off places such as Kolkatta are in city to make coverage about this entire city.

Even when all this fight is going on a Maharashtra firm is toiling hard to complete its deadlines set for them by the State of Government for its ambitious Suvarna Soudha Project at Hlaga Bastwad Belgaum.suvarna

Pune-based family-owned construction firm, B G Shirke Group is now racing to complete the Rs-256 crore project spread over a 127-acre area on a hillock at Halaga-Bastwad village off National Highway 4.

The project has to be ready by the year end so that the winter session can be held here. CM BSYeddurappa visits the site of construction each time he is here for some work.

The project which was started in 2008 by BSY was a part of the strategy to give Belgaum a second capital status, but that never happened but the work on the Suvarna Soudha commenced on time is going as pr schedule the on site manager said.

B G Shirke Group has completed many projects in Karnataka including the Vikas Soudha Bangalore and they say they are proud to be working on such a prestigious project. They said we work in part of the world.

So even when the inter state bus services are still not resumed a Maharashtra company is busy building Karnataka’s pride.

    Uday,
I dodnt which inter-state buses u r talking about. Both KSRTC and MSRTC resumed the inter-state service last week itself. Better login to http://www.ksrtc.in and check schedule and seats availability.

@Maharashtra firm building Karnatakas pride: its all political view…. I wish them good luck. Suvarva vidhan suada will be ready soon 🙂

    Its Behind borders ….

Shirke group is doing its business irrespective of the Broder issue. Most of the firms like Shirke,Quest,Aditya Birla etc which are running to Belgaum for Investment have a clear Idea that Behind the Border issue they have a bright future in Belgaum and hopefully parties like MES should learn something from this and act for Belgaum’s Development ispite of calling BUND twice/Thrice in week :).

i sincerely hope that having an assembly in belgaum will bring some development and prosperity to the city.nothing of the sort happened though, when assembly was conveined the last time.i remember that the city was sparkling with light decorations, at a time when there was a severe electricity crunch.naturally, when the session was over, belgaumites had to suffer the consequenses.on a funnier side,i remember hotel owners complaining about their bills being left unpaid by politicians who had come to the city for the sessions.well, let us try to be optimistic and hope that having an assembly will attract some investment and commerce to the city.

Common we have a list of such firms ( origin from Maharashtra) like this who are involved in one or the other way in the major projects executed in KARNATAKA. There is nothing surprising about this.

These are just examples & more to come in future to just mention again & again that BELGAUM has the potentiality to develop as a emerging Metro & it will. No one can dare to stop/dilute it.
