Mayor N.B. Nirwani speaking to press persons yesterday promised that the working of the BCC will be made more transparent and also all details about the 100 crore grant will be put up on the website.
Mayor said the Government had approved the Rs.100 crore grant on January 19, 2009. Subsequently, tenders to execute 287 works in 31 packages worth Rs. 93.17 crore were invited on the 21st of same month. Administrative and technical approvals were accorded on February 13 and March 17, 2009.
So far, of the works under the first stage, 128 were complete, 111 were in progress and 42 were yet to commence.
The contractors must complete the tendered works within nine months from the date of awarding of the tender/contract, failing which he will be liable for penalty.
KLES Engineering College has been appointed to carry out third part inspection of al works under special grants.
