The Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (Keonics) has plans to open IT park in Belgaum and sources say that they are currently identifying land somewhere near Hindalga.
The main effort of the govt is an effort to decongest Bangalore city and promote the information technology sector in secondary cities. The government has intends to develop these parks on a public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

The department would invest an estimated Rs 60 crore to Rs 70 crore on each of these parks and is also looking for private sector companies to partner the government.
As many as 12 IT units in Hubli were able to generate about Rs 15 crore export revenue the govt release said.
The IT park at Desur which has not been utilized at all is now planned to accommodate other industries as well and here we have another department trying to get land for the Itpark.

  1. This plan is from last seven years, Shimmoga was no whare on cards got one becuase of Yeddi, and for others cities it is made on public expense and for Belgaum PP model, although Hubli IT park has utterly flopped due to poor planning and required facilitates, decongesting Bangalore is only lip service yap yap, every other politicians have eye on so called IT park setup in Bangalore and eat the rental income

  2. The plain and simple question to all these minister is

When already land can be allocated in desur where these people have spent tax payers money and let cattles to graze grass then why do they want to look for land in Hindalga, is it because they have any plots/houses nearby so that they can jackup the rental prices in belgaum.
