With an intention to nurture art and creativity, a Bengaluru based production house – United India Films in collaboration with Techwards Computing (a Bengaluru based IT start up) has come down to the city with its initiative of Unbolt Club under their banner.
A venture to hunt the talent from every potential nooks of Tier 2 cities like Belagavi and represent this potentially blessed and talented City to a higher level. The United India Film’s Unbolt Club has been making some noise in Bengaluru and Mumbai by organising an open mic forum for poetry, story telling, mono acting and film screening.
This March, 2018 United India Films marks its 10th anniversary and the startup idea was originally curated in Belagavi by Abhishek Bendigeri, a Belgaumite in the late 2000s. The production house has bagged many national and international awards. Its recent production B-Tweets which was shot at Lokmanya Granthalaya earlier in 2015 bagged the best film at Barcelona International Film festival, Spain, Ranked amongst the top 20 films at Los Angeles International Film festival, U.S.A and many other national and international festivals.
On 27th Feb, Unbolt Club marked their beginning with their first open mic forum – Rostrum Stage Diaries all exclusive for Poetry and Story Telling at shout out cafe, Tilakwadi.
The show turned to be a success with great response from belgaumites. The forum was open for English, Hindi, Kannada and Marathi. There were about 50+ registrations all together and 23 were shortlisted for the season 1 of Rostrum Diaries and the remaining will be hosted in the forthcoming seasons. The uniqueness of the open forum is – there is no first prize or second prize awards as such as we respect art and talent of each and every individual. But as gesture of motivation, variuos awards and gift vouchers were awarded for best performances. With further plans to conduct film screenings, Film Workshops by eminent film makers from Bollywood, Theatre Festivals, speeches narration, poetry, storytelling and many more in the future, they are setting up and achieving these milestone by conducting such open mic forums every month. When questioned about their motive, they said that- ” The true talent of belgaumites needs representation and we want to be the medium”. The whole intention is to bring exposure to the talent in the city by bringing the Industry experts from Bengaluru and Mumbai.
