Cities like New York and Chicago have a vibrant food truck culture and Belagavi is really catching up on this trend, as evenings see these mean machines open up with smoke and sizzle. Food trucks are redefining the street food scene in the country, serving restaurant-quality fare but with all the joys of eating kerbside. An economical way for cooks to experiment and showcase their food to diners, these mobile restaurants are touring cities serving wood-fired pizzas, freshly barbecued delights, indulgent desserts, and more.
Other cities have already caught up with this trend and city of Belagavi which already boasts of having a couple or even more small sized foods trucks is now seeing another entry of a new food truck “The Italian escape”.
As per our sources there are only two registered Food trucks in Belagavi Adige mane and Italian Escape.
Italian Escape – Stands Opposite Gogte college of Commerce, Tilakwadi 5-10 PM
This truck claims to have the first wood-fired pizzas sold in Belagavi.
We caught up the Jeetesh Shah and Pratik Dhotre who have started this Food truck and the first
Question Why this Truck?
Jeetesh said, me and my partner Pratik Dhotre wanted to give a mobile dining experience to all, we want people of India to celebrate “Food Truck Experience” as its celebrated worldwide, so what better place to kick start our fleet of food trucks than our home turf Belagavi.
Why not regular Hotels?
Pratik told us, Food Truck is more convenient in comparison to concrete space, Our trucks mobility gives us an upper hand to reach our customers in their convenient spaces, it also helps in making the food more affordable for customers without loosing its quality.
Now the biggest question Why your Food Truck?
The Italian escape is a fully equipped food truck, we are the first one to serve Wood Fired Pizza in Belagavi, you can see your pizza being prepared live from dough to the pizza base and pizza getting baked with your choicest toppings in wood fire oven, we also have Make Your Own Pizza concept for people who love their pizza custom made
The Menu has been simple yet attractive with unique wood fired pizza variety, and to complement that they also have pasta & Fries. They have made sure not to make it a mix of INDOITALIAN, this was one of the hardest job as they had to make it delicious and also keep it Italian.
Mandar Kolhapure who runs the Belagaum Foodies, Facebook page says,
Food truck culture is quickly spreading in cities like Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. Good to see, Belagavi too in sync with the latest trend. Food trucks offer some trendy food at pocket friendly prices and this is the reason they are widely accepted everywhere. Belagavi food industry is growing rapidly and hope to see many new trends coming up here. Both food trucks stand opposite Gogte college Tilakwadi
