The State government has decided to set up a new campus at Rani Channamma University in Hirebagewadi.
In the first phase, Rs 100 crore will be provided, said Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ashwath Narayan C.N.
He was speaking with the media after inspecting the land allotted to Rani Channamma University near Hirebagewadi village on Saturday.

Already 127 acres of land have been allotted. This is where both the Academic and Administrative Center will operate from.
The villagers of Hirebagewadi had a discussion with the minister on the occasion and said that they are ready to provide additional land for the establishment of the university.
