100th Sunday Drive and 10,000th Tree Plantation by Green Saviours

The Green Saviours team on its 100th consecutive Sunday of work planted a Mini Forest of 1580 trees at Kwality Foods premises, Rajgoli on 4th March 2018.

The 10,000th Green Saviours tree was planted on the occasion by noted social activist Shivaji Anna Kaganikar, Pyaas Foundation Member Dr Preeti Kore, Safala Nagratna Ramagouda of Aashraya Foundation, Members of Rotary Club Venugram and Mr and Mrs Sanjeev Deshpande from Kwality Foods. Over 425 volunteers including students from GIT Kannada Balaga, KLE Society’s MSS College of Engineering and Technology, Gogte College, KLE Society’s R L Science Institute, IMER and Love Dale Central School, members of Art of Living and members of Body Works Gym participated in the drive with the Green Saviours team.

GS-100 The team wishes to thank Bharatesh Group of institutions, KLE Society and GIT for the travel arrangements; Lions Club Pune (Lotus) for providing over 1000 saplings and the Department of Forestry and Department of Horticulture, Belagavi for the remaining saplings and surplus.

Green Saviours is a team of people from various walks of life who work for 4 hours every Sunday planting and maintaining trees in the region. To join the effort contact 09611313919.
