The Police have taken into custody 11 persons in connection with the stone pelting during the Ganesh immersion procession at Veerbhadra nagar, Shivaji nagar , and Shetti galli.
Samihullah Abbas Kittur (41), Rehan AbdulSalam Balekundari (19 years), Sufiyan Iqbal Bepari (19 years), Wasim Suleiman Savnur (31), Aman Bukhari (19 years), Abdulrahman Ahmad Gaus Sheikh (aged 28), Mohammad Gaus Riaz Ahmed Harnahahalli (19 years), Jasin Mehboob Kakar (22), Mainuddin Kotwal, Nasir Kutbuddin Hubliwale (age 35) and Asif Allabaksh Bagwan (42).
All the accused were taken to the civil hospital and later produced in court on Monday. An FIR has been registered at Market Police station and more people could be arrested, the police said.
