17 more stranded in war-hit Ukraine from Belagavi district

As many as seventeen students from Belagavi district, who had gone for medical education, are still stranded in war-torn Ukraine, said MG Hiremath, DC Belagavi.

Speaking to reporters in the city this morning, DC Hiremath said that two of the 19 students from the district who are still stranded in Ukraine have returned safely.

According to the report, 19 students from the Belagavi district are stranded in Ukraine. A list of 17 students who are still in Ukraine has been sent to the Tahsildars of the respective talukas.
The Tahsildars will go and meet the families of the stranded students. So far the respective Tahsildars have paid a visit to 12 homes. DC himself has visited 2 homes and tried to boost the morale of the families.

A large number of Indian students are stranded in the eastern part of Ukraine. A team of Union Ministers has been sent to bring them home safely. We should all work to boost the morale of the concerned students by giving them patience. Necessary information is being provided to the parents of those students from time to time by the state nodal authorities.

Two officials from Belgaum district have gone to Mumbai three days ago to help students returning from Ukraine. Praveen Bagewadi, MD, Belgaum Smart City and Ravi Curlingnavar, Asst Commissioner, Belagavi are both stationed at Mumbai Airport. The two officials are taking care of the students coming from Ukraine and arranging for their repatriation to their hometowns.
