The 22nd Free Swimming Coaching Camp for Differently Abled and Underprivileged children, organized by Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum, will be inaugurated on February 12, 2024, at KLE’s Suvarna JNMC Swimming Pool – JNMC Campus, Belagavi. This camp will run for 21 days. We are grateful for the immense support from the Divyang jan and underprivileged children of Belagavi district, as we have already commenced the coaching camp on February 5.
This camp has attracted over 200 participants, including physically handicapped, visually impaired, intellectually challenged, deaf and dumb, Tribal, and underprivileged children. The talented individuals selected for competitive training throughout the year will receive systematic and scientific coaching to prepare for various PARA swimming championships. To ensure the success of this camp, more than 20 swimming coaches and volunteers are working tirelessly.
We take immense pride in announcing that nine swimmers who emerged from this coaching camp have represented India in various international competitions, winning 60 international medals. Additionally, numerous swimmers have participated in national-level competitions, securing over 500 medals. Some notable achievers include Raghvendra Anavekar, Rajesh Shinde, Moin Junnedi, Umesh Khade, Shridhar Malagi, Simran Gaundalkar, Aatish Jadhav, Sahil Jadhav, Sumit Mutagekar, Sharanya Kumbhar, Aniket Pilankar, and many more.
Over the past 22 years, this camp has greatly benefited over 5000 children. In addition to free training, participants receive free transportation, a swimming kit, and a nutritious daily meal.
