After months of follow-up, the Cabinet of the Government of Karnataka has approved the construction of a Critical Care Hospital under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, with an estimated cost of 27 crores said MLA Anil Benake.
On December 23, 2022, Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai laid the foundation stone for the 50-bed Critical Care Unit block at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences. The construction is expected to be completed in 11 months, at a cost of 1364 lakhs.
The Ground Floor will include 5 beds for emergency cases and 2 beds for maternity cases, while the First Floor will have 6 beds for DHU, 3 beds for dialysis, 2 beds for isolation rooms, and an isolation ward of 24 beds. The Second Floor will feature 10 beds for ICU, 2 beds for pre-op, and 2 beds for post-op, bringing the total number of beds to 52.
