As many as 31 persons were arrested by a special squad of the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB), under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Chandragupta at Chamkeri Road in Athani.
The raid was conducted without informing the local police and sources say this was one of the biggest raid ever in Athani. Police have seized Rs 3.35 lacs stake amount, 21 motorcycles, 2 four
wheelers and more than 30 mobile phones from their possession.
Police Sub Inspector Shrishail Koujalgi has been Suspened by SP Chandragupta, for
his alleged carelessness.
