The spike in cases continue with 35 new cases reported for COVID-19 in the Belagavi district on April 2.
Out of the 35, 13 are from Belagavi taluka, 3 Gokak, 2 Athani, 1 Hukkeri, 1 Bailhongal, 1 Khanapur, 1 Chikkodi, 0 Ramdurg, Raibag 12, 1 Others.
The active cases have risen to 272 now.
Results of 2978 samples is awaited.
On April 1, 2020, Belagavi had seen its first 3 cases namely from Belgundi, Camp and Hire Bagewadi.
After a steady decline from July onwards, the new cases are on the rise since March 15 on a gradual basis.
The state has already confirmed a second wave and people should follow the COVID guidelines seriously and avert more cases.
