45000 street lights to be changed to LED

Roshan Baig, Urban Development minister was a on a visit to Belagavi where he reviewed various works and projects to be undertaken by the City corporation.

He approved the proposal of changing the 45000 odd street lights to LED which will make huge savings to the tune of 10 crores in electricity bills.

157 acres in Kanbargi will be developed by BUDA which will be called Kanbargi Layout, which will have 450 plots for the weaker sections. Baig insisted on making the Hawkers zone in the city. 13 acres is reserved for Group housing and 10 cares for Ashraya housing. The proposal is ready and will be sent to the Govt for approval.

However the minister on the issue of encroachments especially by the political stalwarts he preferred to remain silent and said lets see.

The masterplan for the city will be revised and all the stakeholders will be called for a meetign which will include members of Chamber of commerce, CREDAI etc.

  1. In our area Nanawadi Near Ayappa swamy temple there is no street light and corporation water connection at all ….resident are still bound to pay corporation tax in time….

  2. In Jadhav Nagar Last one year past Four poles with Street light falls due to heavy rainwe have complained in writing with two reminder, meet north MLA, corporate,keb members, corporation, and till today we are getting the steet lights
