The search for missing Subhedar Major Surjit Singh aged 47, who is serving in the commando wing of MLIRC Belagavi has been intensified. He has been mysteriously missing since Saturday (11 June) evening.
Subhedar Major Surjit Singh (Age 47, Original resident of Dist. Gurdaspur, Punjab, presently a resident of Commando Wing Camp).
He had come to town on a bicycle on Saturday evening to repair his mobile. He was last seen parking his cycle near Vaishali Kitchen Kelkar Bagh after which he suddenly disappeared. Police have been searching for Surjit Singh for the past two days after a complaint was lodged with the police.
As of now the police and the commando wing are clueless about the whereabouts of the Singh.
Apart from the police, commando officers and jawans have been scouring the city premises all day to find them since Sunday morning. CCTV footage of the place where he went missing shows Surjit Singh coming from a bicycle and parking it. If anyone knows about the person seen in the photograph or if this person is found, they are requested to contact the Camp Police or Commando Wing (Mo. No. 9899217518).
PV Sneha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said the police are investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the Commando wing has decided to give a cash reward of Rs 50,000 to anyone who informs about the whereabouts of Subedar Major Singh.
Meanwhile, while talking to the media in this regard, Commando Wing Commander Colonel Manoj Sharma said that at 7:45 pm on Saturday, our Commando Wing Subedar Major Surjit Singh went missing from the city. We are trying to find them. He went missing after parking his bicycle in front of Vaishali Restaurant & Bar from CCTV footage. He had come to town to repair his newly purchased mobile.
