The engineer of Smart city Belagavi was caught in a ACB trap who was bribed by a contractor of the CBT Belagavi for approval of bills.
On the complaint of Sanjiv Navalgund project manager of Apurva Construction which has won the contract for the construction of the CBT Belagavi under Belagavi, the ACB laid a trap.
The general manager of the technical department at the Smart City office Siddanayaka Doddabasappa was caught by ACB officials when he was receiving a bribe of a sum of 0.5% of the bill Rs.60000 at his residence.
Meanwhile a sum of 23,56,000 were found in the house of the accused.
The ACB officials continue to investigate the accused.
Nothing will happen to this engg he will bribe someone to get out of it…

Any construction contract and road making are big opportunity to make money! And most smart city works ends up in these categories.
Unless there is transparency in plan approval, costings, bidding and completion certificates, there is no way of getting rid of this menace.
