The Shiv Jayanti celebrations are very unique to this city of Belagavi and the grand procession on the streets of the city is a sight not to be missed. Hundreds of young old throng the streets to see the live acts performed on the tableau.
As usual the police have geared up for the celebrations and has beefed up the police bandobast in the city.
In all 13 Assistant Commissioner of Police , 38 Police Inspectors, 69 Asst Sub Inspectors, 955 Head Constables /Police Constables , 650 Home guard , 12 KSRP, 4 CAR are being deployed in the city to avoid any untoward incident.
Speaking to the media Commissioner of Police Krishna Bhatta said that police have made adequate arrangements for the procession and liquor has been banned. The use of Dolby will also be banned during the celebrations.
Procession is slated to commence at 7 PM from Hutatma Circle on Sunday.
