Artlit Festival – Feb 2022 at Belagavi

This February has finally got Belgaumites, their much-needed entertainment and art-literature retreat in the form of “Artlit Festival 2022”. It was conducted by Rostrum Diaries, an art performing platform of GubbiBoo Ventures, Belagavi.

Founded in 2015, Rostrum Diaries is a community pioneered by a bunch of passionate techies with a heart for art. A stage to nurture, create, cultivate, curate and collaborate with performers, poets, storytellers, narrators, content creators and artists all over the world. The community is all about artist goodwill and the promotion of art with the technology at hand.

“Artlit Festival” was conducted in the beautiful lawns of The Backyard Bistro and Grill cafe, whose sole purpose was to bring a mini art and lit fest in Belagavi for the first time, where 5 published authors of English (Mariee Raghavan, Shraddha Hiremath), Kannada (Nadeem Sanadi), Marathi (Harshada Sunthankar), Hindi (Rajesh Patnaik) and 2 artists (Shirish Deshpande, Vadiraj Babaladi) shared their journey and motivated the budding authors and artists present in the audience.

Popular ballpoint pen artist, Shirish Deshpande & author of Exploring the Ball Point shared his experience as an artist and shared some tips and tricks about ballpoint pens which can be used for drawing any scene.

A youth sensation, who has been making viral content on social media, having more than 150 k followers – Vadiraj Babaladi was awarded with the Young Achievers Award by Rostrum Diaries. He shared his story and the support he got from his friends and family. Vadiraj also mentioned the importance of social media and content creation, which is in trend these days.

The cover for the much-awaited second edition of Artlit Times Magazine was also launched by Shirish Deshpande, Dr Madhav Prabhu and other dignitaries. The magazine has got over 20 Lakh subscribers across India and is available for free read at www.artlittimes.com

Marie Raghavan, author of “Magical Moments” and Shraddha Hiremath, a 12-year-old kid who has authored “Astro Kids” were interviewed by Abhishek Bendigeri. Marie shared about the initial challenges she faced while compiling her book and the importance of patience while writing. Another author, Shraddha shared the stories of the characters involved in the book and the inspiration and support she got from her parents to complete her book at such a young age.

In the Marathi section, Harshada Sunthankar, author of “Kapade Valat Ghalnari Baai” shared the thoughts and inputs she had while writing her book.

Nadeem Sanadi, who is a popular Kannada poet and a published author for “Huliya Nettige Neralu” shared his thoughts and explained the key points and necessary inputs required for one to be a successful author and how we are forgetting the ancient history of literature.

Rajesh Patnaik, whose first book “Khayalon Ki Aazadi” which was published by Rostrum Publications was launched. “The beginning is always difficult, you need to be determined” said Rajesh.

Apart from the interviews and launches, an open mic competition was also conducted, which was judged by Swatee Jog. Chaitanya Halagekar stood victorious for the event. Madhu GC, Sagar Belgundkar, Pushkar Ogale and Ashwin got special recognition awards.

There were also two special musical performances by Lehar band – Junaid Madiwale, Prathamish Karekar, Rajab Sahebkhan, Nikhil Potdar and Gaurav Nevrekar of Low Budget Records.
