Belagavi Corporation is set to receive approximately 200 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana 2.0. In the recent budget speech, the Chief Minister mentioned that the government plans to allocate Rs 2,000 crore for infrastructure development in 10 Municipal Corporations as part of the Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana-2.0.
Integrated townships near major cities such as Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, KGF, Vasanthanarasapura of Tumakuru, and Ballari will also be developed.
If we assume that the 2000 crore is divided equally among the 10 corporations, Belagavi will receive around 200 crore for development projects in the city. With elected representatives in the corporation, decisions regarding the allocation of funds and project implementation will be made during general meetings.
Now, I fear, How much money will be eaten by corrupt people.
