The groundwork for the proposed Belagavi Elevated Corridor Project appears to have moved a step forward with geo-technical investigation work beginning at Dharmveer Sambhaji Maharaj Circle in the city.
Barricades have been placed at the site, with a notice board stating that geo-technical investigation is “in progress” for the elevated corridor project. The board mentions that the project is being taken up by the Public Works Department (PWD), Belagavi, with technical support from Infra Support Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
Geo-technical investigation is an important preliminary stage of major infrastructure projects, involving soil testing and analysis to determine ground conditions and foundation requirements for the proposed structure.
The commencement of soil investigation indicates that the project has entered the initial technical assessment phase before further design and construction activities.

- Length: Approximately 4.5 km in the initial proposal, with the overall elevated network extending further in the latest design.

- Kittur Rani Chennamma Circle
- Extends to Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Circle
- Eventually reconnects to NH-48 near ICMR in the latest alignment.
