According to Ola Electric, smaller cities like Belagavi, Tumkur, and Hassan in Karnataka, Durg in Chattisgarh, Ernakulam in Kerala, and Tirupur in Tamil Nadu are experiencing a significant increase in electric scooter usage, with 35%-60% penetration rates.
Anshul Khandelwal, CMO of Ola Electric, stated that Belagavi has 50%-60% penetration, Durg has 35%-40%, and Tirupur has 30%, making them comparable to top cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Surat, and Jaipur. Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Karnataka are the top states for electric scooter usage.
Ola Electric is expanding its experience centre network to 1,000 in the next two months, with the goal of increasing its market share from 40% to 60%-70%. The company is focusing on Tier 2 and 3 cities, where opening an experience centre can increase penetration from 1%-2% to 8%-10%. Ola sold around 30,000 units last month and aims to sell 40,000-50,000 this month.
Ola has 2 experience centers in Belagavi one on Bauxite road and one on Khanapur Road Tilakwadi near Third gate.
