Belagavi Lad gears up to host International short film festival in Bengaluru

Abhishek Bendigeri a Belagavi based techie who presently working in Mumbai had founded United India Films (UIF) and now his company is gearing up to host first International short film festival in Bengaluru This June.

UIF was founded in 2008 by like-minded friends from Belagavi. Abhishek with his two friends Sachin Deshpande and Chiranjivi Patil to bring out their passion of making artistic short films after getting many appreciations to their first short film ‘Ondu Hejje’ which was made during college days.

uif-ffThe team at UIF are from different walks of like and works in various companies but never miss chance to spend time on weekends at the UIF studio to bring out their creativity. This team got global level recognition for their short film ‘B-tweets’. This film not just appreciated in India but also listed in top 20s at the prestigious Los Angeles International Film Festival, United States of America in 2016, It was selected for the Indie Wise International Film Festival, Florida in 2016, It awarded the Best Short film at Good Deeds International Film Festival, New Delhi and best narrative short film at Barcelona film festival, Spain.

After making near about 20 short films, this team has all set to host the International Short film festival titled ‘Meraki’ at BTM layout, Bengaluru on June 4.

This festival will be a medium for ones work to get appreciation and also to bring out the talents of art. Eminent actor, theater personality and journalist Prakash Belawadi, Eminent Cinematographer Satya Hegde, who had made cinematography to various movies including Kendasampoge will be Jury members to the festival.

This film festival will also honor films under various categories including Best actor, Screen play, cinematography, trailer, audience chance award, best film award and many more awards will be given based on the decision of the jury members. Already over 30 entries including 4 from abroad has received. The organizers are expecting near about 200 entries to this first ever short film festival.
