The road connecting Mahatma Gandhi Circle, club road in Belagavi city to Kudremani village, a vital link for thousands of vehicles and nearby villages like Hindalaga, Sulaga, Turamari, and Bachi, has been severely damaged due to heavy rains. Today, MLA and Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar inspected the road, gathering detailed information about its condition. Following her review, instructions were issued to DC and Public Works Department (PWD) officials to ensure quality road repairs for smoother public transportation.

On Sunday (29th), the long-awaited road repair began, starting with leveling the road using JCB machinery. Soon, asphalting will follow to restore the damaged stretch. The Belagavi-Bachi road had become a major concern after local representatives and villagers from the western part of the taluka submitted a formal complaint to DC Mohammad Roshan just four days ago, urging immediate action. The DC personally inspected the road ahead of Ganeshotsav and approved temporary repairs during the monsoon. However, the materials used in the patchwork were washed away by continuous rains, making the road hazardous for traffic once again.

The current repair work has commenced from Sulaga (Hindalga) with the aid of JCBs, addressing the deep potholes and mud accumulations along the sides. Years of neglect had left the road in a critical state, with large, dangerous potholes further deteriorating under the monsoon’s impact. The JCBs are leveling both the road surface and the surrounding soil mounds, ensuring that the road will soon be safe for use once again.
