Belagavi is a home to many small industries, colleges, universities and the human talent pool is abundant. Belagavi has been doing note-worthy progress in the fields like foundry, health care and others but IT(information Technology) industry is lagging behind. Be it the Desur IT park or some other projects of the Government, nothing substantial has happened in the city and most of the people (including the budding engineers & their faculty) are unaware of Information technology and ITe’s companies that exist in the city of Belagavi.
To encourage and make awareness of the presence of IT companies in Belagavi a Premier Special Interest Group called IT-Belagavi has been formed. IT-Belagavi is the premier Association of the IT-BPO companies in Belagavi.
IT-Belagavi aims to reach out to the engineering and business community in and around Belagavi to tap the local firms and talent pool for any of their Information Technology & Computer Software requirements. The group members are committed for putting up Belagavi on Information Technology Map of India and attracting talent as well as business to make Belagavi as a preferred destination.
Speaking to AAB group convener R K Patil of Vayavya labs said,
We had a similar group earlier as well but we will now have a deeper focus on this and build a special interest group which will become the face of the IT in Belagavi.
He further added,

To be voice in any of the IT & Digital Economy initiatives that government and local bodies envisage for Belagavi

IT-Belagavi’s members and associate member companies are broadly in the business of computer software development, embedded software & solution, software product engineering & consulting services, recruitment services, BPO services, e-commerce & web services, off-shore engineering services , animation and gaming.
With time we will also help entrepreneurs who want to come to Belagavi and set shop here, as most of the companies are started by first time entrepreneurs, their experience would be worthwhile for the new comers to town.
The IT sector in Belagavi is very encouraging. Considering the human talent around and the blooming companies which have chosen Belagavi as their Playground, it was thought of collectively coming on a single platform where all the IT companies could share their knowledge with the community and also collaborate with each other.
