  1. THE PHOTOS CLICKED BY KAPIL PAVASKAR ARE FANTASTIC. I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE HIS ENTHUSIASM . LOOKING ON AIRCRAFT PERSPECTIVE IT IS STILL A FAN PROPELLED AIRCRAFT ,COMING TO BELGAUM ,WHILE FOR OTHER CITIES LIKE MANGALORE ,JABALPUR ,VARANASI IT IS A JET AIRCRAFT . THE JET AIRCRAFT HAS A BETTER MILAGE ON PER GALLON BASIS. IT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE THAT OUR BELGAUM AIRPORT DOES NOT HAVE A FACILITY FOR LANDING A A 319 AIRBUS AIRCRAFT. THE A319 AIRBUS AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATIONAL SOME TIME AT HUBLI AIRPORT.

The pics taken form Plane is High wing Q400 turboprop aircraft, these aircraft have propellers but the engine is of Jet type, to correct you Hubli airport is having same length runway of 26/08 as that of Belgaum so not in dream would any one dare to crash land an Airbus 319 or for that sake even Boeing 737-100, only Mangalore Airport after Banglore has got A320 and Boeing 737-800 (Narrow bodied jet category) runway. Well Belguam did have landing of a regional jet plane of CRJ200 make by Embrer Brazil used by Airforce called “RAJDOOT’
Belgaum Airport latest progress is surveyors from NAAI are making markings for land acqusition once done the runway just need 500 mtrs expansion to land any kind of narrow bodied jet ( A319 or B737-800) another 500 Mtrs extension can accommodate even A320 with Runway type of 27/09 , wait for comming days to see such planes in Belguam for sure but provided ther is aggressive political will

  2. simultaneously govt sud take some strong action toward industrial development , City expansion, Better Infrastructure, Sawantwadi-Belgaum-kolhapur, Dharwad-belgaum Kolhapur,
and Belgaum-bijapur-hyderabad Rail connectivity. Belgaum-Chorla-panjim road to reduce time distance n directly conect with Goa port, Then ppl will afford to travel by air bus. else again the will cut off the service n it will take a couple of years to get start again, ,

  3. @ Mr Satish kumar. I would like to mention the following point wise :-

1.The Aircraft which lands at belgaum is a Bombardier Q400 Aircraft.
2.Most of the propelling power is through the propeller and the exhaust gases play only a minor role in propelling the Engine .
    3. The Turbo props are used only in locations where ther is short take off and landing. SOTL is the
    abbreviation used.
4.The Schedule of the Flights of Kingfisher Aircraft very clearly showed that the Type of Aircraft from
Hubli to Bangalore was Airbus A319. The same was discontinued due to poor load factor.
    5. As Regards the crash landing and take off ,i would like to describe by taking the case of
Lucknow Airport in which the Airbus A321 used to land and take off. At landing the Pilot applies
brakes more number of times . AT each instance of the brake , A coolant emerges out and cools
tyres ,thus the speed is brought down. While take off the Engines are made to attain a higher
Turbojet rotation . the plane is not allowed to move for Two minutes but after two minutes the
Aircraft takes off. I am telling you because I have travelled by this Airbus A321 AIrcraft. The
name of the AIrline was Kingfisher Red.
    6. The Embraier CRJ Brazil does not exists ,but correct name is Bombardier CRJ 200. Pl
    dont get misled.
7 The AIrcraft A 320 is medium bodied and not narrow bodied.
    8. As regards the progress of expnasion of run way at belgaum AIrport.,the work was awarded and
is in progress for the last couple of years.
Lastly lets hope for the best for landing an Airbus A319/A320 Airbus at belgaum Airport..

    • Thanks MR. Shivanand Naik for you and your Quantas friend for explaination on engines and trubines
For sure to the fact Hubli never had A319 service it was ATR72 and ATR42 same palnes later taken over by Kingfishers from Airdeccan I have flown a few enroute to Belgaum from Mumbai on Hop flt from Dubai, the schedules were (Mumbai Belguam Hubli Mumabi and Mumbai Kolhapur Belgaum Mumbai) and Bangalore Hubli Belgaum Bangalore also .
Hubli runway is still short to land and take off Jet aircrafts same as that of Belgaum (both the runways are + or – 5500 ft approx) , and I agree to the facts given by your Qunatas friend about STOL technology,
I am an Virtualization specialist and by hobby an aeromodeler and aviation geek being my father was in Indian Air Force my childhood was around Dacotas (DC3 ) AVROS, Fokkers AN-32 to An124 cargo planes, , and also accept my mistake of mentioning wronlgy the Bombardier CRJ 200 as Embraier CRJ, again I agree to your point number 5 , besides there is new technology called reverse thursting used for reducing speed in the engines itself and the flaps are used for draging the wind speed. may be you can confirm from your friend
Your point number 5 on Lucknow Amusi Airport runway is 8800 ft lot longer then Hubli or Belguam Airport so it can accomodate A321 , the thurst is acquired for takeoff during your mentioned 2 min times is common phenomenon
For your point number 7 Some facts to correct you not as an argument but to share ,, there is no medium bodeid aircraft the passenger planes are classified based on seating arrangments , fuel consumpation per tonnage based on haulage capcity such as MCLR (medium capcity long range) or LR (long range) ER (Extneded Range).
the planes with dual Aisles are called wide bodied jet like Airbus 310, 330 340 , (Four engine)and A380 (four engine double deck) onwards , and Boeing B747, 767, 777 and 787 dreamliner.
The narrow bodeid aircraft are single Aisles configuration A319 A320 and A321 from Airbus and B737 kind , so A320 is medium capcaity aircraft not medium bodied aircraft it is still narrow bodied
There are other examples of aircraft makes from Illushin (Russian) ,Mcdonald Duglass US merged with Boeing , EADS (Europe) and engines form CFM Snecma, P&W RR , GE ….can share about
I have been flying gliders of 8 KAR NCC (Ardra and Rohini)in my collage days and in Dubai for last 12 years making models have more to share and have most rare collection of Aviation Books as well.
And lastly about Belgaum airport expansion I am tracking devolepments since late 80’s ever since my father got transfer from Assam here, my parents have now settled in Pant Balekundri. and waiting to see expansion of runway of another 3000 feet .

      • Smaples have now been taken of the acquired land so that a Wall can be built this is the current expansion. So when it comes to expand the runway it self may be our Grand children would fly
