The Belagavi police have commenced a new all women force named aptly as Kittur Rani Chennamma Force which will strive for women and child protection.
The said women force will have all women officers and constables and a special vehicle has been allocated to them which will patrol near schools and colleges to prevent molestation, eve teasing and even chain snatching.
This is a QRT force, which means it will function 24 x 7 and will respond quickly if needed. The force has been given special batons and even karate training along with legal knowledge about the acts and provisions relating to women and child welfare.

The Kittur Rani Chennamma Force aims to ensure and make the women feel safer in the city and special care has been taken where earlier complaints of eve teasing and molestation have been reported. Even women hostels will be covered under patrolling.
Bus Stops, Hostels, Colleges, Schools they will try and patrol the areas at the same time the the force will patrol uninhabited places.
