The Chorla Ghat which is in very bad condition, the Goa Govt. has commenced the repairs of the said road on Republic day.
Deepak Prabhu Pauskar, PWD Minister Goa kicked off the repair works on Jan 26.
The 27 km stretch from Dattawadi Sakhali to Chorla Ghat gate was inaugurated at the hands of Hon. PWD Minister Goa Deepak Prabhu Pauskar.
The work has been tendered to Interbuild Infrastructure at an amount of Rs. 11 crores 89 lakhs.
There were protests in Goa to get the said road repaired. Now that the work has commenced it will bring a sigh of relief on the travellers who had a hard time to commute and it took them 4 hours to reach Belagavi from Goa.
Many tried the Anmod, Hemadga- Khanapur road but that too is not so good. Now with the commencement of work, the road should be relaid in a fortnight.
