CM Bommai met Defense Minister requesting handover of 732.24 acres of land in Belagavi

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai met Union Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and discussed various issues including the request to hand over 732.24 acres of land in Belagavi to the state in possession of the Defense Department to build an IT park.

An area of ​​732.24 acres of Tukamatti village near Belagavi belonging to the state government is under the custody of the Defense Authority and no development work can be undertaken.

The Chief Minister requested the Union Defense Minister to give appropriate direction to the defense authorities to hand over this land area to the District Collector of Belgaum for the purpose of development.

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manjunath Prasad, and Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources and Urban Development Department Rakesh Singh were present.

On previous occasions as well similar submissions have been made to the Defense Minister.

  1. What is strange is nobody knows why and how 732 acers is required for? Is it for Industry? Is it for it/BT or is it for someone’s thrust for real estate biz?

    The public should know the plan and who really is benefits, if it is industry where are the plans? The other day existing industry folks met CM in a delegation and said they are ready to go to Kolhapur or Goa due to better offers…. They are not leaving Belagavi for want to space….their problems are very different….roads, traffic, civic amenities etc etc….
