CM BSY directs to shift some govt offices to Belagavi

Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa directed officials to identify State-level government offices in Bengaluru and take necessary action to shift these to Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi in the next month.

“Identify state-level government offices in Bengaluru within a month and take necessary action to shift these offices to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi,” said Yediyurappa in a statement.

The aim of shifting offices is to address the regional imbalance.

svs-cleanYediyurappa said he would visit Suvarna Soudha shortly to inspect it.

Since the establishment of the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha each govt in power has been taking the same decision of shifting offices to SVS but nothing has moved over the years.

Committees were formed, inspection done, orders made but in reality no offices were shifted to the SVS which lies vacant.

  1. It is a shame that S V S in Belgavi hasn’t been used for original intended purpose, it sits there looking pretty while wasting taxpayers money to maintain it. It’s time for politicians to wake up and do something good!

  2. if BSY is serious he will put out a list of offices, ministries and secretariat (including names) and the dates by which they will be shifting. Otherwise this will be one more GOK order where no one cares. To show the commitment let BSY take the first step of operating his own office fro Belagavi one week in every month.
