The traffic intensity on the existing 6-Lane in Belagavi city limits on NH-48 is too high of about 70,000 PCU, results in heavy traffic congestion, delay in travel time, reduction in level of Service, increase in vehicle operation cost (VOC), increase in rate of accidents and increase in pollution in the city.

Therefore requesting for 4-Lane elevated corridor in Belagavi city limits on NH-48 for segregation of through and local traffic.
