In a reply to a question raised by Smt ANGADI MANGAL SURESH, MINISTER OF STATE, SHRI AJAY BHATT IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE replied in the Loksabha –
A proposal for transfer of 2.718 acres of defence land for widening of Belagavi Savgaon Mandolli Road (Nanavadi to Savgoan-Mandolli connecting road via Angadi Engineering College) was received from State Government of Karnataka on the basis of exchange of Equal Value Land.
Identification of suitable land for transfer to Ministry of Defence in lieu of defence land is to be done by the State Government before the matter is processed further for grant of working permission under Ministry of Defence Policy Letter No. 11015/2/2012/D (Lands) dated 02.02.2016.
Smt Angadi had asked whether the construction work on the Savagaon-Belagavi road (MDR) near the Belagavi City of Karnataka has not been completed due to objections of the Defence officials under the pretext that it passes through the Defence Land.
