In the recent general body meting held at the City Corporation Belagavi, the Mayor a detailed report on the cleaning and reconstruction of Nala’s (Storm water drains) in the city which is excepted to cost Rs.160 crore.
It may be recalled that last week when low lying areas such Maratha Colony Shastri Nagar, Indraprastha nagar were inundated with flood water was due to the drains not been cleaned and also due to encroachment of the drains to some extent.
Mayor Sarita Patil instructed the officials to arrange a meeting with officials of the railways, PWD, minor irrigation, Buda and cantonment board to solve this water logging problem. Now the corporation will seek a special fund of Rs.160 crore exclusively for Drains.
As citizens we just hope the money does not go in the drains.

Money surely will go in their pockets.
They must have to show transparently and post all the transactions details online for the public.
