Court orders ACB to again probe Former MLA Abhay Patil

Social worker Sujit Mulgund had lodged a private complaint against Former MLA in Lokayukta court in 2012. The Sixth additional sessions court now has ordered the ACB to investigate into alleged corruption charges leveled against former BJP MLA Abhay Patil during his term as legislator. The court has asked ACB to submit a report on it before 27th April.

sujitSujit Mulgund who was speaking to reporters said, Abhay Patil had petitioned to the high court bench contending that without the consent of legislature, officials should not be allowed to take up any inquiry against a sitting MLA.

According to Sujit Mulgonund, the High court bench has rejected this petition. He has further alleged that When Patil was MLA, he has deposited crores of black money on Benami accounts in Arihant Cooperative society. He had also forcefully purchased lands of farmers and government land misusing his powers influencing the Belagavi urban development authority (BUDA) and KIADB said Mulgund and told that he had filed case just to disclose corrupt practices of MLA.

Abhay Patil said that he will study the order and then only comment as the matter was subjudice.
