DC hoists the national flag

For the first time in many years, (maybe 30) the national flag will be hoisted this Independence Day by bureaucrats and not ministers.

Normally, the district in-charge minister is authorized to hoist the national flag during the Independence Day celebration but since the cabinet expansion has not yet been done, the DC’s have been instructed to hoist the flag.

Authorities have also been directed to keep the Independence Day celebrations simple in view of the prevailing flood situation. 

In his circular to the DCs’, the chief secretary of Karnataka Vijaya Bhaskar has informed that the Independence Day be celebrated in a simple way and the flag be hoisted by the DCs of the respective districts excepting Bengaluru Urban.
